Senior Chief Aviation Electronics Technician Abiodun Adeyemi Oguntala

Senior Chief Aviation Electronics Technician Abiodun Adeyemi Oguntala, a native of Tacoma, Washington, enlisted the U.S. Navy in September 2000.  After completing boot camp at RTC Great Lakes, he attended Aviation Electronics Technician “A” School at Pensacola, Florida, in November 2000.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in organizational leadership from the University of Charleston, West Virginia.  He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 229, Gold).

His first duty assignment was Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic in Oceana, Virginia. His subsequent tours include Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Point Mugu, where he deployed with USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), and USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), as well as Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD) Atsugi. In 2011, he reported back to the USS Ronald Reagan, where he was selected for advancement to chief petty officer in 2014. In 2015, he served as maintenance master chief at the newly-established AIMD Iwakuni, Japan, where he oversaw the maintenance requirements for eight squadrons and two detachments in the forward-deployed naval forces area of responsibility.

He reported to serve as the senior enlisted leader for the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Detachment Atsugi, Japan, in October 2024.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards).
