A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Cmdr. Peyton Price graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and commissioned as a cryptologic warfare officer. He earned a Master of Science in cyber systems and operations from Naval Postgraduate School in 2016 and doctorate in industrial and systems engineering from Mississippi State University in 2020. His dissertation is on cyber threat-capability prediction against industrial control systems.

Price’s operational assignments include N39 director of operations in the Information Environment at 7th Fleet; information warfare officer on USS Cowpens and USS Dewey, where he qualified as a surface warfare officer; and subsurface direct support officer at Navy Information Operations Command Maryland, supporting 5th and 6th Fleet operations.

Ashore, he served at Naval Information Forces as liaison officer to Naval Surface Force Atlantic, Navy Cyber Warfare Development Group as a principal assistant program manager; and Commander, Naval Surface Force as command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I)/cyber operations officer. He also was a Secretary of the Navy Tour with Industry fellow at Idaho National Laboratory.

Price reported to Information Warfare Training Command Monterey as commanding officer in April 2026.

He holds a Level II Program Management and Systems Engineering Defense Acquisition Workforce Certification. His personal decorations include various service medals and unit awards.
