PORT HUENEME, Calif. (Oct. 29, 2021) Ensign Tariq Jaber, left, shakes hands with Capt. Peter Maculan, commanding officer of Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering and the Naval Civil Engineer Corps Officers School (CECOS), during a graduation ceremony. Jaber was one of 33 U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) students who completed the 15-week-long CEC Basic Qualification Course at CECOS. New CEC officers complete the course before reporting to initial assignments as public works officers and construction managers at Navy and Marine Corps installations or as platoon commanders and staff officers in the Naval Construction Force.
