NEWPORT, R.I. (Sept. 14, 2021) Officer Candidate School (OCS) class 03-22 students perform a five-minute prone float in the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Combat Training Pool during the third-class swimmer test at Officer Training Command Newport (OTCN), Rhode Island, Sept. 14, 2021. The test consists of jumping from a 10-foot tower to simulate abandoning ship, five-minute prone float, coverall inflation, and a 50-yard swim. OCS morally, mentally, and physically develops civilians and fleet Sailors into newly commissioned officers and imbues them with the highest ideals of honor, courage and commitment to prepare graduates for service in the fleet as Naval officers.
