Lapse in Appropriations: The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025.
Military personnel will continue in normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (Jan. 28, 2022) Construction Electrician 2nd Class Laderius Hale presents sexual assault prevention and response training to students and staff during a destructive behavior “stand down” at Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering (CSFE) Detachment Sheppard Air Force Base (AFB). As part of the Navy’s Culture of Excellence, one of the Navy’s signature behaviors of the 21st century Sailor is to uphold the highest degree of integrity in their professional and personal lives. An aspect of this signature behavior is to reject illegal or destructive behavior and the appearance of such behavior. The stand-down session was an opportunity for CSFE Detachment Sheppard AFB leadership to educate and focus students and staff through training and dialogue.
