Sailor Assists Afghan Evacuees During Final Departure

Cryptologic Technician (Interpretative) 1st Class Josan Rivera (right) assisted Afghan evacuees during their final departure at Fort Pickett, Virginia on Feb. 1, 2022. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, provided transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least thousands of Afghan evacuees during Operation ALLIES WELCOME, Task Force Pickett.
