Lapse in Appropriations: The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025.
Military personnel will continue in normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

NJROTC National Championships 2022

220401-N-PW480-2238 PENSACOLA, Fla. (April 1, 2022) – Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) cadets participate in the push-up event at the 2022 NJROTC National Academic, Athletic, and Drill Competition, April 1. NJROTC cadets from 27 schools across the nation assembled for the competition. It is the first to be held in person since 2019 and is the most comprehensive test of overall NJROTC training and performance. Naval Service Training Command (NSTC) oversees 583 NJROTC and 58 Navy National Defense Cadet Corps (NNDCC) units across the nation and world.
