DAHLGREN, Va. (June 01, 2022) Capt. Russ Sanchez, commanding officer, discusses the schoolhouse’s Virtual Maintenance Trainer (VMT), a high-fidelity 3D gaming environment that provides a virtual depiction of the Aegis Weapon System computer network, to Rear Adm. Pete Garvin, commander, Naval Education and Training Command (NETC), during his visit to Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) AEGIS Training and Readiness Center (ATRC) onboard Naval Support Facility (NSF) Dahlgren. The VMT was funded by Director, Surface Warfare’s (OPNAV N96) program of record, Surface Training Advanced Virtual Environment-Combat Systems (STAVE-CS), which was introduced in 2015 as a means to provide better quality training resulting in more rapid qualifications of our Sailors.
