Lapse in Appropriations: The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025.
Military personnel will continue in normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

NSTC Awards THU Reserves

GREAT LAKES, Ill. (September 27, 2022) – Command Master Chief Richard Mengel, Naval Service Training Command (NSTC) senior enlisted leader, talks to sailors outside the USS North Caroline Transient Barracks on Naval Station Great Lakes here, Sept. 27. Mengel was on hand to observe the presentation of end of tour Navy and Marine Corps Achievement and Navy Commendation Medals to several Reserve Sailors for successfully completing their annual active duty time leading, mentoring and taking care of transient Sailors waiting for their next duty assignment orders.
