(March 1, 2024) NEWPORT, R.I. – Vice Adm. Brendan McLane, commander, Naval Surface Forces, left, presents Capt. Brian Mutty his end of tour award during the Surface Warfare Schools Command’s change of command ceremony where Capt. Joseph Baggett relieved Mutty. Mutty was promoted to rear admiral after the ceremony and he will serve as assistant chief of staff, J3, at Allied Joint Forces Command Naples. SWSC’s mission is to ready sea-bound warriors to serve on surface combatants as officers, enlisted engineers and enlisted navigation professionals in order to fulfill the Navy’s mission to maintain global maritime superiority.
