NAVAL STATION NORFOLK (June 6, 2024) Sailors assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) and Firefighters assigned to Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Fire and Emergency Services dress out and prepare to combat a simulated fire during an 8010 major fire drill, June 6. The 8010 drill is a limited training team validation exercise to test the ship’s ability to extinguish a fire in an industrial environment and the crew’s ability to integrate with commands and organizations outside of the ship.
