Lapse in Appropriations: The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025.
Military personnel will continue in normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

(October 30, 2024) Navy League Memphis, Navy Recruiting Command, Navy Personnel Command and Navy Talent Acquisition Group Nashville partnered to bring Naval Aviation Orientation Day for Mid-South students to experience at the Wilson Air Center. Students from JROTC, aviation, and STEM programs had the opportunity to explore a range of military aircraft from locations across the country, including Norfolk, Virginia; Corpus Christi, Texas; and Pensacola, Florida. In addition, they met with representatives from the Navy’s eSports team “Goats & Glory,” the U.S. Naval Academy Admissions Office, Navy and Marine Corps recruiters, as well as members of the U.S. Coast Guard.
