The Central Florida Navy League Council and the city of Orlando dedicated a Lone Sailor statue at a site on the former Navy Training Center Orlando, named Bluejacket Park April 2, 2016. The Lone Sailor stands at the edge of the former parade field to honor the 652,000 Sailors that graduated from Recruit Training Command, the officers, non-commissioned officers and civilian personnel that worked and trained on the base. The Base was closed in 1999 based off the decision of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) committee. (U.S. Navy video by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Thomas Miller/Released)
