NORFOLK, VA. (Aug. 8, 2021) Farrier Firefighting School hosts week-long firefighting and damage control training courses for service members and foreign personnel, seeing as many as 300-500 students per week. It is dedicated to and named after Chief Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Gerald W. Farrier, who was one of the first Sailors to die onboard the USS Forrestal (CV-59).
