U.S. Army Spc. Esmeralda Rosas, a M1 armored vehicle crew member with 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 63rd Armor Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, discusses assisting at the Fair Park Community Vaccination Center in Dallas, Texas, and what it means to her. Rosas deployed to Dallas along with other 1ID Soldiers in February 2021, to provide support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in its national COVID-19 vaccination efforts, and together have administered over 250,000 COVID-19 vaccinations to local Dallas community members. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
