Aircrew members with the West Virginia National Guard's Company C., 1-150th Assault Battalion, were called in to assist the National Park Service and local responders in providing aerial fire suppression support in the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve in Fayetteville, West Virginia, on Nov. 10, 2022. Flying a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter and utilizing the Bambi Bucket delivery system, the Guard members flew 22 total sorties in their UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter and dropped approximately 13,200 gallons of water using a Bambi Bucket delivery system. Their efforts helped responders contain and control the blaze, which had grown to more than 200 acres and threatened local homes and businesses. (U.S. Army National Guard video by Edwin L. Wriston)
