Naval Education and Training Security Assistance Field Activity (NETSAFA) is the U.S. Navy’s agent for Navy education and training for international military students. Located at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, we coordinate and supply training support to international governments and international organizations. As a field activity of Naval Education and Training Command (NETC), we serve as a focal point for all Security Assistance and Security Cooperation education and training program issues, coordination and advice within the U.S. Navy.

NETSAFA is an integral part of Navy International Programs Office (Navy IPO), therefore we also work with and through the Navy IPO chain of command. We are responsible for partner training support first and foremost, and we will work to assure the best training support for our international customers through Navy, other government institution and organizations, and private industry. We must be advocates for our security assistance customers by interceding with those government institutions and private organizations that impact or have the potential to impact our customer training and training support capability.

CNATTU North Island staff donates blood to save lives

Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit North Island staff members and students participated in a blood drive event, sponsored by the CNATTU North Island Second Class Petty Officer Association, managed by the Armed Services Blood Program to support the mission critical and urgent need for blood donors.

SCPOA members were onboard to assist and encourage others to donate. They also provided apples, bananas, cookies and brownies, as well as drinks to those that gave blood. As a bonus, the ASBP provided donors with a $25 e-reward as an incentive that can be used on-line for various retail shops.

The blood drive had a total of 19 donors making up 19 units of blood collected.

“We thank you all so much for donating and to the SCPOA coordinators for providing the space to operate at a moment’s notice, and we really appreciate everyone, and thanks to those who gave the gift of life,” said ASBP coordinator Mrs. Doreen.

Many willing donors were unable to donate blood due to receiving the COVID-19 vaccine recently. For those that missed out and wished to give blood, only to be turned away, another drive will be scheduled in the coming months, according to Petty Officer Second Class Melissa Muse, an SCPOA representative and treasurer.

Bravo Zulu to the CNATTU North Island SCPOA for taking the initiative and setting up and providing the event in support of the continuous need for blood for those deployed overseas as well as those back here at home.

CNATTU North Island Commanding Officer Cmdr. Kyle Caldwell shared this sentiment.

“What a wonderful opportunity for CNATTU NI to participate in such an event, Caldwell said. “I am so proud of our SCPOA and its members, well done!”
