Warrior Toughness

Every U.S. Navy Sailor, enlisted or officer, could face life-threatening situations from combat or casualty. Each and every one needs to have the ability to persevere and perform under both immediate danger and long-term stress, both on the job and at home.

Warrior Toughness (WT) is a holistic human performance skillset that enhances the toughness of our Sailors with a focus on the pursuit of peak performance. The system emphasizes coequal development of toughness in the mind, body, and soul. WT combines performance psychology skills with character development, and teaches the Warrior Mindset, whose concepts were initially developed by members of the Naval Special Warfare community.


Designed to increase the Navy’s warfighting capabilities, WT is an enabler of the Culture of Excellence as part of the first line of effort – Developing a Lethal Warfighting Force. In place at Recruit Training Command since October 2018, the curriculum is now incorporated across all Navy accessions at Officer Training Command Newport, the United States Naval Academy and the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps. WT will improve the performance of Sailors under stress and throughout their everyday lives, building lethal warfighters ready for the next mission.

NOBLE JUMP 17 - Albanian Convoy Arrival in Bulgaria

Today, an Albanian contingent, which is part of NATO’s Very High Readiness Task Force (VJTF), arrived in Bulgaria for the NATO exercise Noble Jump 2017. They stopped in the vicinity of Sofia, in Convoy Support Centre Gorna Banya, where Bulgaria as a Host Nation provided the all necessary support and logistic. Captain Besnik TUSHA - Commander of the Albanian company and Lieutenant Colonel Georgios ZISEKAS – Commander NFIU BGR (Greece, Army) - gave an interview for the Bulgarian Military TV Chanel.

Almost 150 servicemen and 20 vehicles departed the 78th battalion in Gorna Banya in Sofia. The Bulgarian unit provides accommodation of the Albanian company.

A total amount of 650 soldiers from the Great Britain, Spain and Albania are passing through Bulgaria this week to participate in the NATO exercise in Romania. The NATO Force Integration Unit in Bulgaria has responsibility for the convoy support coordination.

Noble Jump 2017 integration training will take part between the 8th and 14th of June at the Cincu combat training center in Romania.

For the first time Bulgarian Army provides the all necessary support and logistic for the VJTF in order to test the national plan for Host Nation Support.
