Command Master Chief Irwin J. Hoffmann (SCW/EXW)

Master Chief (SCW/EXW) Hoffmann is a native of Roseboom,NY. He reported to Recruit Training Center Great Lakes, IL, in July 1997. Upon completion of Recruit Training, he attendedBuilder “A” School at Naval Construction Training Center (NCTC), Gulfport, MS.

His first tour of duty was with Naval Mobile ConstructionBattalion (NMCB) 133. His deployments were to Bosnia, Spain,Guam, and to Tunisia, Africa. BU2then reported to Navy Cargo Handling Battalion ONE atWilliamsburg, VA. He was assigned as the Builder Shop Lead.He then deployed Kuwait with the battalion in direct support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). Following two years at this shore duty, he transferred to NMCB 74 in February 2004 serving as a Project Supervisor with deployments to Seychelles, Africa, Afghanistan, and Iraq in support of OIF and OEF. During his three years at NMCB 74, BU2 Hoffmann advanced to BU1 and BUC. BUC Hoffmann reported to NMCB 14 in March 2007 serving as the Battalion Operation’s Chief. BUC reported to NMCB 133 in January of 2010 and deployed to Okinawa Japan, where he was assigned as the Echo 3 (E3). During this deployment he also deployed as the AOIC for Pacific Partnership 2011. He deployed to Vanuatu and Pompeii for the Pacific Partnership mission. He then became the Battalions Quality Control Chief (QC) and completed a deployment to Afghanistan. BUC was selected for CUCS at the completion of his tour with NMCB 133. CUCS checked into Naval Construction Group TWO (NCG2) in August 2013. He is worked in the N7 department as the Field Exercise (FTX) AOIC. He was responsible for the training of eleven Naval Mobile Construction Battalions. CUCS Hoffmann then was stationed at Diego Garcia as the Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL) from 2016- 2017 followed by NMCB ONE from August 2017- August 2020. CUCS Hoffmann promoted to CUCM at NMCB ONE and received orders to NCG2. In 2022, CUCM submitted and was accepted for the Command Master Chief (CMDCM) Program. He served as the CMCDM for NMCB ONE from August 2022- March 2025.

Currently, Master Chief Hoffmann is serving as the CMDCM of NCTC Gulfport, MS.

Master Chief Hoffmann is a designated Seabee Combat Warfare (SCW) and Expeditionary Warfare Specialist (EXW). His awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), Navy Good Conduct Medal (4 awards), Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and various personal awards.
