Air Force Combat Dive Course-Supervisor

Course Description
The scope of this training provides instruction for all Active Duty, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve Special Warfare Airmen already certified in Air Force Open and Closed-Circuit dive operations (or equivalent). Course content includes Open and Closed-Circuit diving supervisor tasks as outlined in AFI 10-3501, Dive Program and the U.S. Navy Diving Manual.

Students will be expected to conduct both Open Circuit and Closed-Circuit dives during this course.
 
Registration Instructions
Requesting units are responsible for submitting all medical and dive paperwork garth.sinclair (at) us.af.mil and micah.mutti.ctr (at) us.af.mil (NOTE: @ sign omitted from emails) 14 days prior to class start date or as soon as the request in made. Submitting this paperwork does not guarantee a seat into the Dive Supervisor Course.

UTMs must submit the class number, TRQI code, quota type to their MAJCOM TRQI Manager, and Type 5 information request to TSgt Mitchell Rose at mitchell.rose (at) us.af.mil (NOTE: @ sign omitted from email).

MAJCOM TRQI Manager will contact 2 AF/MRT for funding request. Once approved, the training rip will be generated for the member to attend the course.

Prerequisites
 Airmen must:
  •  Be a US citizen.
  •  Volunteer for career field related hazardous duty.
  •  Show successful completion of a SOCOM accredited Combat Dive Open Circuit Course.
 
AFSPECWAR Members:
Send a copy of Individual Training Summary (ITS) to 350SWTS.Det1.Training@us.af.mil  proving currency of the following items throughout the duration of the course NO LATER THAN TWO WEEKS prior to the course start date:
  • AFSPECWAR TIER 2 Operator Fitness Test (Send copy of score sheet)
  • QUAL Eval (Closed Book)
  • Special Warfare Airman Physical
  • Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC)
  • Basic Life Support Certification / CPR qualified (Required to conduct diving operations)
  • NRP Recertification (Pararescue ONLY)
  • Open Circuit Dive Operations
  • Open Circuit Emergency Procedures
Sister-Service Members:
Send Service-equivalent requirement documentation  to 350SWTS.Det1.Training@us.af.mil  proving currency of the following items throughout the duration of the course NO LATER THAN TWO WEEKS prior to the course start date.

All Members:

  • Current DD Form 2766c, Immunization Record
  • Current DD FORM 2807-1, Report of Medical History
  • Current DD FORM 2808, Dive Physical to include:
    1. Full Neurological Examination
    2. Current Chest X-Ray Report
    3. Current copy of 12-lead EKG strip
    4. Dental Class I or II rating within 12-months of exam date posted on DD FORM 2808
    5. Hyperbaric Pressure Test verification
  • Current DD Form 2992, Flight Physical (AFSPECWAR ONLY)

Reporting Instructions (Supplemental)
ALL MEMBERS MUST HAND CARRY THE DOCUMENTS OUTLINED IN THE REQUIREMENTS SECTION ABOVE FOR DAY ONE.  MISSING ANY OF THE REQUIRED PAPERWORK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM STARTING THE COURSE.  STUDENTS WILL BE SENT BACK TO THEIR HOME UNIT, AT THEIR HOME UNIT'S EXPENSE.

All students are REQUIRED to be put in PCS status in DJRS prior to arriving in Panama City for course attendance. Students will be placed back in PCS status upon completion of training or elimination from training during checkout procedures.

Students will report to the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center (NSDC), 2nd Floor, Air Force section, 350 S. Crag Road, Naval Support Activity-Panama City, Panama City, FL 32407.  Report at 0700 on Day 1 of the course in PT Uniform (Black and Tans or Black and Greys) with all required documentation.  It is recommended that OCONUS Students arrive 2-3 days prior to class start.

All students must arrive and maintain meeting Air Force uniform and grooming standards.       

Off-base lodging and full meal rate should be authorized due to limited on base billeting availability for this advanced course. 
 
Airport and Transportation
Students will fly into Panama City Florida International Airport, (airport identifier "ECP").

**NOTE: TAXIS/RIDE SHARE SERVICES CANNOT ENTER THE NAVY BASE**

Uniform Requirements
The following equipment items are required (unless stated "optional") for all students and must be in serviceable condition. Students must meet/maintain Air Force uniform and grooming standards during training.
 
  • 1 x Set of Garrison Uniform & Uniform cap/Beret
  • 2 x Sets of Field Uniforms
  • 1 x Field 1 "booney" cap (optional)
  • 2 x Belts with buckle (1 Garrison, 1 Field "swim")                          
  • 4 x Sets of Physical Training Uniforms (Black and Tans)
  • 1 x Field jacket or GORTEX (Nov-Apr)
  • 1 x Watch Cap, black (Nov-Apr)
  • 1 x Gloves, black (Nov‐Apr)
  • 2 x Towels
  • 1 Pair of boots (one for field use)
  • Socks/Undergarments as required Cold weather clothing/accoutrements as needed during winter months
  • Dive/Chamber clothing (Swim trunks, t-shirts, sweat shirts, and towels) shall be made of 100% cotton
  • Diver swim trunks made of a 65% polyester–35% cotton material is acceptable
  • Government Travel Card and Military ID Card
 
Dive Gear
Students are not required to bring any dive gear, as it will be issued on Day 1 of the course.  Students are permitted, however,  to utilize their own masks, fins, wetsuits and booties with the approval of a Dive School Instructor.
 
Additional Information
Firearms Prohibition Statement
Airmen are not permitted to bring personal firearms or ammunition while attending Special Warfare Training Group (SWTG) courses. If firearms are transported to a SWTG course due to TDY en route, PCS, or some other unavoidable circumstance; they must be declared to SW training leadership immediately and turned-in to the Security Forces (SF) armory immediately upon arrival. A copy of the AF Form 1314, Firearms Registration, and the DD Form 2760, Qualifications to Possess Firearms or Ammunition will be submitted to SF Armory, and to SW training leadership. Failure to comply with the above instructions is punishable under Article 92; Failure to Comply; under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
 
Homework
Homework is required for this course that be outside the standard 8-hour training day.
