Welcome to the Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) AEGIS Training and Readiness Center (ATRC). We are standing by to assist both you and your family to ensure a smooth transition. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
SCSTC ATRC is located approximately 68 miles south of Washington, D.C.; 55 miles north of Richmond, Virginia; and 23 miles east of Fredericksburg, Virginia. There is no public transportation and cab fare from the airport to Dahlgren is in excess of $200, always obtain receipts. SCSTC ATRC does not provide transportation from regional airports to Dahlgren.

as soon as possible to confirm lodging availability. Call toll free 1-877-NAVY-BED (1-877-628-9233). Do not check-in prior to report not earlier than date. Per diem for lodging and food will not be paid until that date. Checking in early will result in expenses being paid out of pocket. Students arriving without reservations cannot reasonably expect to receive on-base accommodations. If non-availability issued for government quarters and POV not available, member may request rental car through detailers. Public transportation is not available. Contact student control if you need assistance or as soon as you have confirmed reservations.

Arriving with Dependents
Contact the
Naval Support Facility Dahlgren Housing Service Center
as soon as possible in order to confirm housing availability. If housing is not available you may be put on a waiting list. Call DSN 249-8505 or (540) 653-8505. The housing office also maintains a housing referral listing for off-base housing. Check with your servicing PSD/CSD to verify eligibility for dislocation allowance (DLA) and temporary lodging entitlement (TLE). Contact student control if you need assistance or as soon as you have confirmed your housing arrangements.
Relocation Services
The family service center relocation office operates a loan locker of utility items that can be checked out by military personnel arriving in advance of their household goods. Items are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Contact the FSC relocation office for more details at (800) 500-4947.
Reporting to SCSTC ATRC
1. Before detaching Great Lakes (at least 1 week prior to), contact student control with any questions you may have.
2. Be in the Uniform of the Day when reporting aboard.
E-6 and Junior: Dress Whites from May to October (check with your sponsor)
E-6 and Junior: Dress Blues from October to May (check with your sponsor)
E-7 and Senior: Service Khaki All Year
3. If you are driving, ensure your vehicle is properly registered, and be able to provide proof of registration and insurance.
4. Ensure you receive a good night's sleep the day before you commence class; indoctrination starts at 7:45 a.m. on your first day.
Officer Students
If a vehicle is not included on your orders, cab fare from the airport to Dahlgren can be in excess of $200 but is reimbursable on your travel claim. Check in at the airport USO to check the availability of airport shuttles. Public transportation is available between Dahlgren and Fredericksburg (Route K1 King George County).

- Navigate under “Professional Resources” to “Communities of Practice”
- In the left-hand menu choose “Schools & Learning Center”
- Click on the icon for “Surface Combat Systems”
- Click on the “AEGIS Training and Readiness Center” button
- Uniform of the Day is Navy Working Uniform for classrooms and labs.
- Classes start early the first day. Please be at the Arleigh Burke Hall Quarterdeck by 0730 on your first day.
- Your CAC will be coded for SCSTC ATRC access within the first week of class. Please ensure your IA cert and trainings are complete and certs available prior to arrival.
- A PKI SIPR Token for access should have already been issued by your previous command and ready for use.

When you arrive at Naval Support Facility Dahlgren
All visitors are required to enter the base from the Main Gate on Rt. 206 (Dahlgren Road). The following basic rules apply:
Proceed directly to the Main Gate and be prepared to stop.
Photo I.D. (government or driver's license) is required.
State your business (ie: "check in at SCSTC ATRC").
Request directions/assistance from gate guard as needed.
Under normal circumstances, you should NOT have to stop at the Main Gate's Visitor Control office.
