Ms. Valerie DiMichele

Ms. Valerie DiMichele serves as the Executive Director for Mariner Skills Training Center, Atlantic (MSTCLANT). Her duties include overseeing the day to day operational missions and tasks of the command, as well as providing leadership for the command’s civilian cadre. She assists in managing all issues relating to the command's organizational and functional interrelationships, performance goals, and the successful accomplishment of its mission objectives. She is the command’s subject matter expert on training requirements and curriculum and led the efforts to stand up the new Mariner Skills Training Center Facility.

Ms. DiMichele is a native of Silver Spring, MD, and is graduate of Virginia Tech, earning her B.A. in History with minors in Military Science and Leadership. She earned a Master of Science degree in Environmental Policy and Management from American Military University.

Ms. DiMichele was commissioned into the U.S. Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer and served in various afloat and shore commands.

Ms. DiMichele was one of the first staff selcted in support of the Littoral Combat Ship Training Facility (LTF) in San Diego, CA. Her positions at LTF included Instructor, Curriculum Developer, and Learning Standards Office Analyst. She developed the curriculum for the LCS-1 and LCS-2 Officer of the Deck (OOD) and Junior Officer of the Deck (JOOD) Capstone courses. Ms. DiMichele taught those courses in addition to the Bridge Resource Management Course and LCS Crew Certification events.

Ms. DiMichele’s civil service began in 2015 as the Field Learning Standards Officer (FLSO) for Information Warfare Training Command San Diego (IWTC SD). As FLSO, she was responsible for instructor certification and training, curriculum development and maintenance, student critique program management, and Internal and Formal Course Review (ICR/FCR) programs for more than 170 instructors and 60 courses at seven geographically dispersed sites. She was selected as Civilian of the Year in 2019.

Ms DiMichele resides in Chesapeake, VA with her two sons, Galen and Victor.

Lapse in Appropriations: The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025.
Military personnel will continue in normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
