Energy Management

Course Description:
This program, established as a result of the Energy Policy Act of 1992, is to ensure that all Facilities Managers are properly trained energy managers.  The legislation defines a trained energy manager as a person who has demonstrated proficiency, or who has completed a course of study in the areas of  Fundamentals of  Building Energy Systems; Building Energy Codes and Applicable Professional Standards;  Energy Accounting and Analysis; Life-Cycle Cost Methodology, Fuel Supply and Pricing; and  Instrumentation for Energy Survey and Audits.
 
These six areas represent the technical knowledge and training that is needed by most energy personnel. The Navy's  program makes use of many resources for Energy Training.
 
Resources include Government Agencies, Universities and Associations.  With this program you receive funding assistance in Tuition/Registration, Travel Costs and Per Diem.
 
You have the freedom to locate the training source that best provides your needed training and schedule. THEREFORE THERE IS NO SCHEDULED TRAINING LISTED.  CECOS has been centrally funded to pay for fees for energy personnel who qualify for the training.  This is a very unique program, CECOS is ready to assist you in finding and funding training for your specific needs.
 

Course Description:

This law defines a trained energy manager as a person who has demonstrated proficiency or has completed a course of study in the areas of fundamentals of building energy systems, building energy codes and applicable professional standards, energy accounting and analysis, life-cycle cost analysis, fuel supply and pricing, and instrumentation for energy surveys and audits.
