Construction Management Course
Course Description:
The Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) Construction Management Course is designed to provide junior CEC officers with the fundamental knowledge and skills in construction management, construction materials and methods, and planning and estimating. This course will enable graduating trainees to perform supervisory tasks associated with construction management in both peacetime and contingency operations.
Economic Analysis
Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to provide the trainee with information necessary for the preparation of an economic analysis used in the naval facilities business decision-making process.
Facilities Planner
Course Description:
The objective of the course is to prepare civilian and military personnel who are assigned facility planning duties at shore activities and intermediate commands to carry out the procedures of Shore Facilities Planning System. Training includes the philosophy, general principles, logic, and procedures of facility planning and other asset management functions that support facility planning at Naval installations globally. Trainees are introduced to NAVFAC's automated planning tools and provided a series of workshops to reinforce and supplement course material.
Facilities Projects Seminar
Course Description:
This course provides training in policies and procedures for the development, review, and execution of facilities projects for improvement and upgrading of the Navy's facilities.
Intro to FEAD/ROICC
Course Description:
This course is designed to provide basic knowledge in construction, design, and service contract administration and management to CEC officers and senior enlisted and civil service personnel. CEC officers and senior enlisted and civil service personnel will be assigned to construction management positions. Construction management includes using current management tools to determine the proper processes for construction and services requirements; to determine effective contract acquisition and design strategies; and to comply with current statutory and regulatory guidelines for environmental issues.
Intro to FMD & Production Div Operations
Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to provide civilians assigned to facilities management and production positions with the basic knowledge to perform in facilities management and production positions within a Public Works Department. Responsibilities for facilities management and production positions include using current knowledge management, information technology, communications, and other management tools to accomplish required facilities management and production tasks; managing real property inventories and planning facility projects; budgeting for facilities management and operations; and executing public works functions.
Intro to Public Works Dept. & FEC Operations
Course Description:
This online self-paced course is an introduction to the Operations within the Public Works Department. It provides an overview of facilities engineering, including the organization, function, management tools, resources and constraints required to preform within a Public Works Department. It is designed for junior CEC Officers or civilians who are enroute to a Public Works Department. Upon completion of the course and in conjunction with the Appropriate follow-on INTRODUCTION TO FACILITIES ENGINEERING & ACQUISITION DIVISION/ROICC or INTRO TO FMD & PRODUCTION DIVISION OPERATIONS the Civilian Engineer or CEC Officer will be able to perform the duties within a Public Works Department with minimum follow-on OJT.
MCON Programming and Budgeting
Course Description:
The MCON Programming and Budgeting course is designed to instruct Navy and Marine Corps installation planners or Military Construction (MILCON) project managers in the development and implementation of the programming and budgeting process used in the Navy MILCON Program. Trainees will learn how to develop effective MILCON project documentation.
Public Works Department Basic
Course Description:
The PWD Basic course will provide new accession Civil Engineering Corps (CEC) officers the initial training to perform construction management and Assistant Public Works Officer (APWO) duties in a NAVFAC Public Works Department (PWD). PWD Basic training would focus on Project Management and APWO duties.
Public Works Department Intermediate
Course Description:
The PWD Intermediate course will provide midcareer civilians and midgrade CEC officers the training required to perform as a director for the Facilities Management Division (FMD), Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division (FEAD), and Production Division in a NAVFAC Public Works Department. Additionally, this course discusses the funds used in a Public Works Department, Emergency Management coordination, and personnel management.
Public Works Dept Advanced
Course Description:
This course is designed to bring Public Works Officers, Deputy Public Works Officers, and other key positions within NAVFAC up-to-date on current policy and programs that support the public works mission. Trainees will learn about current facility engineering initiatives at the Chief of Naval Operations, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Supported Commands, and regional and installation levels. Course topics will focus on the core competencies of the shore establishment that fall under the purview of facility managers at an advanced level.
Real Estate Seminar
Course Description:
Prepare civilian and military personnel who are assigned real estate and real estate-related duties at shore activities to meet command responsibilities for defining and resolving real estate issues in accordance with established departmental legal, policy, and procedural guidelines.
United States Marine Corps Facilities Management
Course Description:
The purpose of this undertaking is to establish a training program in Facilities Management for Marine Corps, Navy, and civilian personnel tasked with providing facilities management and consulting services to Marine Corps field activities. The manager will learn how to accomplish effectively and efficiently the entire spectrum of facilities management through current Marine Corps and Navy infrastructure management techniques and requirements in support of the Navy/Marine Corps mission.
