NAVAL CONSTRUCTION TRAINING CENTER PORT HUENEME CM “A” SCHOOL TRAVEL INFORMATION
1. Before departing RTC please ensure you have $50-$100 cash and your debit card. One of these will be used to purchase your shuttle ticket for service from LAX to Oxnard. 

2. Once you arrive at LAX you will complete the following steps:
    a. Immediately call one of the below numbers to notify duty personnel that you have arrived at LAX:
        1. NCTC OOD (PO2/PO1)-available Mon-Sun 24/7-(805) 315-7689 / (805) 982-5137 
        2. NCTC CDO (CPO)-available Mon-Sun 24/7-(805) 336-5253 
        3. NCTC Quarterdeck-available Mon-Thur 1730-2200; Friday 1730-2359; Saturday 0001-2359; Sunday 0001-1900-(805) 982-4298 
    b. Pick up all bags (seabag, garment bag, etc.…) at your flights designated baggage claim location.
    c. Remain on the ARRIVALS level-lower level and follow the below steps:
        1. Exit baggage terminal and walk to CENTER ISLAND and locate the ORANGE “SHARED RIDES” sign. You will be looking for the VENTURA COUNTY AIRPORTER SHUTTLE (white bus/red logo on the side). 
        2. IF THE TERMINAL YOU EXIT DOES NOT HAVE AN ORANGE SHARED RIDE SIGN FOR ANY REASON (such as construction), PLEASE PROCEED TO THE NEXT TERMINAL OVER.
 
3. The shuttle pick-up times from LAX to OXNARD are: 0700, 0800, 0930, 1030, 1130, 1230, 1330, 1430, 1530, 1630, 1730, 1930, and 2130. The shuttle stops ate each terminal beginning with terminal one, be patient as the shuttle makes stops at various other terminals, allow 15-25 minutes from the indicated time for the shuttle to arrive at your terminal. Let the driver know that you are heading to OXNARD (Oxnard Airport) NOT VENTURA AIRPORT.  If you miss a shuttle or the shuttle is full you will need to wait for the next shuttle. 
 
4. The Bob Hope USO located near Terminal 7/8 if you need assistance, or to wait for the next available shuttle. Pay attention to the time if waiting at the USO.
 
5. The shuttle driver may take cash or debit card as payment; current fee is $55 per rider and an additional fee for extra baggage may be applied. Please keep all receipts for your shuttle expenses, you will be reimbursed once you arrive at your ultimate duty station. The shuttle WILL NOT drop you off at Port Hueneme, but instead it will take you to the Oxnard Airport.

6. You will call one of the contact numbers listed above for each of the following instances:
    a. Once you get onto the shuttle and are departing LAX.
    b. Again, when you are 20 minutes from the Oxnard Airport.
    c. And finally, when you arrive at the Oxnard Airport.
 
NOTE: If there are ANY issues, you have the contact numbers as shown above. Do not hesitate to call and you will be advised as what to do or where to go as needed.
 
KEEP ALL RECEIPTS!!!!!

Reporting
All Personnel should report in uniform.  Upon your arrival to Naval Base Ventura County Port Hueneme, report to Bldg. 1300 if within normal working hours (0700-1600/ Monday- Friday) or the NCTC Port Hueneme Quarterdeck (Bldg. 1184) after working hours.

Lodging and Messing Section
"A" School Students

All "A" School students will be housed in Bldg. 1184. 
“C” School Students
Prior to arriving in Port Hueneme, ensure berthing is arranged by contacting either the Navy Gateway Inns & Suites Naval Base Ventura County (805-982-6025) or the Navy Lodge Port Hueneme (805-985-2624).

Dining facilities
The base dining facility is in Bldg. 61 on the south side of the barracks. Ensure you have a copy of your orders with you. Other dining options are available at the NEX, in the bowling alley complex and at the golf course.
