Program Overview

The Limited Duty Officer/Chief Warrant Officer/Warrant Officer (LDO/CWO/WO) Academy is a four-week course designed to transition prior senior enlisted Sailors into their new roles in the wardroom in accordance with the Navy’s Officer Professional Core Competencies. This program ensures that newly commissioned officers are well-prepared for the challenges of leadership within the Fleet.

Mission Statement

To develop newly commissioned officers morally, mentally, and physically, while instilling the highest ideals of honor, courage, and commitment. The Academy prepares officers to become effective leaders by developing fundamental skills in leadership, written and oral communication, career management, and administration.

Prerequisites

  • Must be a commissioned LDO/CWO or appointed WO in the U.S. Navy under the provisions of OPNAVINST 1420.1B.
  • Must meet Navy physical readiness standards per OPNAVINST 6110.1J prior to arrival.

  • Get Real, Get Better: Embracing continuous improvement and accountability.
