The NROTC Navy Nurse Program Option offers an opportunity for students interested in becoming nurses in the U.S. Navy to earn a bachelor's degree in nursing while earning a commission as an ensign. During two summers, Navy nurse option students also participate in hands-on training and receive experience at a Navy hospital and on a Navy ship for four weeks. This gives them an opportunity to exercise the skills they learned and an understanding of the opportunities available to them after graduation and commissioning.
