Four-Year National Scholarship
The Four-Year National Scholarship provides full tuition and educational fees or room and board (up to $11,500 per year), stipends, uniforms, and summer training cruises. Students complete courses leading to a Baccalaureate degree in a traditional college environment, preparing to commission and serve as a U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps Officer.
Four-Year National Scholarship Benefits
- Full tuition at one of the listed colleges or universities (or room and board up to $11,500).
- Select fees imposed by the school on full-time undergraduate students.
- Textbook stipend: $750 per academic year ($375 per semester or $250 per quarter).
- Uniforms and Naval Science textbooks.
- Three summer cruises.
- Subsistence allowance each academic month:
- Freshman: $250/month
- Sophomore: $300/month
- Junior: $350/month
- Senior: $400/month

Who Can Apply?
- U.S. Citizens, Naturalized U.S. Citizens, or those in the process of becoming Naturalized U.S. Citizens.
- Persons not less than 17 years old and not yet 23 by September 1 of the year starting college.
- Persons with no criminal record of military or civilian offenses pending or federal convictions.
How Do You Apply?
Service Obligations
- Navy Option Scholarship Midshipmen (excluding Nurses or Marines) must serve a minimum of five years of active military service.
- Marine Corps Option Scholarship Midshipmen must serve at least four years on active duty.
- Navy Nurse Corps Option Scholarship Midshipmen must serve at least four years on active duty.
